Answers: 1.0 Introduction With the increase in the globalization, the organizations are focusing on changing their business model. However, sometimes due to some incapability, they are unable to meet the changing objectives and face various issues. For solving issues that the organizations face, there is a need of analytical framework and strategies. This can only be done by effective planning, communication and training. The objective of this report is to discuss the solution for the problem of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd. The staff of the company lacks the require training to maintain the inventory. The functions of organizations that would be discussed in this report would be basic functions of planning and organizing. 2.0 underlying cause As mentioned above, the staff of the company lacks the require training to maintain the inventory. This is the reason that there has been a difference between the actual level of inventory in the store and recorded inventory on books of company. The things that could have been differently to avoid the problems can be discussed as: What should have been done? Inventory management is not an easy and routine task and every employee in the organization cannot perform this task (Sharma Prykop, 2012). It is important that the job given to employees should match their skills. The management of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd could have used trained staff to manage inventory. Inventory management and verification with actual count should be a continuous activity for organization. This should be done as a frequent practice, at least once a month (Cailiu, 2012). Crown Departmental store pvt ltd was doing it once every three months. Ideally, Crown Departmental store pvt ltd should have the provision of auditing inventory levels, once every month. The organizations functions to be used The problem with Crown Departmental store pvt ltd is a classical problem where organization lacks planning. It appears that the problem of inventory mismatch could have been avoided if emphasis was given on the planning function. It can be said that planning is the core and most important organizational function. The effective planning could have address this issues as in the case of effective planning; management could have used only the resources with specific skills of inventory management. Another important management function that could be used here to avoid the problem is organizing function. It can be said that manager didnt plan and organize the training session for employees. This problem could have been avoided if the employees of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd was trained enough to perform the inventory management function. It can be said that the management of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd lacked the basic function of planning and organizing; therefore the company reached this stage. One of the solutions for this problem is to plan for monthly audit. The management should realize that the auditing of inventory levels is an important thing and it should happen on monthly basis rather than on quarterly basis (Corbridge, 2010). One of the recommended solutions for Crown Departmental store pvt ltd is to have regular trainers who would impart training to the employees of the company. There has to be a provision of mandatory training. All the employees from low- level employees to top-level manager should participate in this training program. Other than this mandatory training program for everyone, the company should also have a provision of specific training programs that would be designed to meet the need of employees who performs the function of inventory management. It is also important that the employees of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd should be given a platform where the mistakes can be minimized. The work pressure should not be very high on the employees. It is important that management should focus to create the external environment in which employees can work without any pressure. The improvement in external environment would help to reduce the chances of errors. Employees should also be encouraged to work on their health (VoordePaauwe, 2012). The chances of error would be further minimized if employees were in good health. All these are the planning and organizing measures that should be taken by the management of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd in order to ensure that these issues do no resurface again. 3.0. Recommendation From the above mentioned issues identified, the major issues or challenges of concern that has to be analyzed are: Important Business skills Managerial Techniques Need Assessment Training and development programs Recommendation 1: To mitigate all the above mentioned concern, it is important for the organization to implement Performance-Based Training system which would teach the employees about their job performances and also enable them to understand their job and take up responsibilities accordingly (Friedman et al., 2013). Along with this the company need to implement ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model that will permit all the employees to master their attitude, knowledge and skills as the model emphasizes on the specific job that the employee is performing and helps the employee to achieve high standards that are necessary for the job (Branch, 2009). In order to implement successful training and development program, the Crown Departmental store Pvt ltd should consider the following criteria: Understand and analyze the relevant training programs for the employees; Analyze what training program will help to improve their performance; Find out if train ing is creating any difference or not; Differentiate the organizational problem and the training needs for the employees and Develop the job performance by aligning with the organizational goal. Further, for successful implementation of training system, the Crown Departmental store Pvt ltd need to focus on Innovation and creation programs that would give the employees opportunities to develop their skills, increasing knowledge and developing skills will enhance the awareness and also make sure that all the employees are achieving both personal and organizational success, integrate cross-functional communication which would help to promote efficiency and respond to the requirements of the customers by planning properly and carefully, reinforcing the training programs of the organization and make sure that the particular systems are actually delivering the satisfying services to the customers, the customer satisfaction level would be increased and by refining the criteria for approvin g the training program to make sure fairness and consistency for every employee (Biech, 2009). Recommendation 2: Crown Departmental store Pvt ltd, should also implement TQM (Total Quality Management) that would help the employees to understand and analyze their mistakes and provide high satisfaction to the customers. This can be done by encouraging the employees to participate in the improvement of the organizational culture, services, products and processes (Mohammad Mosadegh Rad, 2006). It is the responsibility of the top management to encourage the employees to show their commitment. In order to make the a successful TQM, the organization need to focus on, the managerial techniques also play an important role that will help the Crown Departmental store Pvt ltd to increase the morale in the organization and also their productivity. This technique can include: developing transparency and openness in the organizational environment; Sharing and distributing the information; Focusing on effective team building; developing and leading teams properly; developing both short-term an d long-term planning; to assist and train the people for recognizing the opportunities and make effective suggestions; act like a team leader for directing the subordinates; Practicing delegation through involvement and participation; employees should also encourage different culture to make the organization a diversified cultural organization and the organization should implement reward systems by promoting work-incentives, competitive benefit packages, recognition programs and also profit sharing (Cocks, 2014). 4.0 Conclusion The problems for Crown Departmental store pvt ltd are big but these problems can be resolved with effective planning and efficient organizing. It is important that management should focus on Training and development program, designed for employees would certainly help employees of Crown Departmental store pvt ltd to minimize the errors in inventory management. 5.0 Reference list Biech, E. Contemplation Essays - Suicide Note, , Term Papers
Contemplation The poem, "Suicide Note," by Janice Mirikitani, depicts an Asian-American female college student who committed suicide by jumping out of her dormitory window. Her last words, thoughts, and feelings were left behind in a suicide note, describing why this had to happen. This was a tragic accident that should not have happened, in fact, it should have been prevented. What drove this college student to kill herself? Was it her fault, or was she pushed so far that it became too much for here to take? It is revealed throughout this suicide note the many reasons why she decided to end her life. The suicide note begins with the phrases, "not good enough," "not pretty enough," and "not smart enough" (3). These phrases are repeated over and over again, to prove to the reader that she was never appreciated or complemented for what she had to offer. No one had ever brought it to her attention that she was doing a good job, or that she looked pretty, or that she was smart. It showed that she was smart, she was just shy of a perfect four-point grade average. 2 The note goes on to state an apology to her parents. She felt as if she was disappointing them, by not working hard enough, and also "not good enough to please her parents" (7-9). Everything she had done seemed to be the best she could do, but to her parents, it wasn't good enough. She begins to fantasize about what it would be like if she were a son, "shoulders broad as the sunset threading through the pine" (10-11). Would she have gotten more attention? Would she then be praised for the jobs she has accomplished? Would it be good enough for her parents? Since she was a girl, her parents expected less from her. She tried to stand up and take charge, by doing chores and tasks that a boy would be required to do. Had she been a boy, her life would be a lot easier, and she would have gained more respect from her parents. She admits that "tasks did not come easy to her" (24). "Each failure, a glacier" (25). The glacier represents a big disappointment to her, as if it makes her feel cold inside, and she regrets that she could have done better. Further into the note, she pictures herself as a sparrow, "sillied and dizzied by the wind" (38-39). The reason she pictures herself as a sparrow is because a sparrow is a little bird that is not considered to be a really important creature. Compared to a hawk or an eagle, a sparrow is a peasant bird, or an everyday bird. People have noticed sparrows before, but have never pointed them out, like they would if it were a hawk or an eagle. They would praise the hawk or eagle, not a little sparrow. When people see a hawk or an eagle, they stop and say, 3 "Look!" or "Wow!" She obviously never got acknowledged for her work. She felt like she wasn't being appreciated. Near the end, she hopes that they will "bury her under a sturdy pine" (59). The pine refers back to the beginning where she pictures herself as a boy. The pine represents what would have happened if she would have turned out to be a boy. It could also mean that in the afterlife, she wants to be as strong as a pine, hoping that she will be brought back as a boy. The suicide was a way for the college student to finally be noticed. It was very unfortunate for a person to take their life just to get attention, and to finally get some appreciation for all the things she had done, which still wouldn't be good enough for her parents.

USTDA essays
USTDA essays After going to the Tradeport website, I have decided to do my paper on a US federal government agency. I explored a few of the agencies and decided to choose the US Trade and Development Agency. The US Trade and Development Agency (TDA) is a small independent agency. It is comprised of about forty-one people. The director is Mr. J. Joseph Grandmaison, who was nominated by President Bill Clinton. The TDA with the help of the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee works with the Department of Commerce, the Export-Import Bank, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and other agencies to advance American business interest in other countries. They are primarily involved in the agriculture, energy, environment, health care, information technology manufacturing, mining and mineral development, telecommunications, transportation, and water resources areas. This is the TDA Mission Statement: The U. S. Trade and Development Agency assists in the creation of jobs for Americans by helping U.S. companies pursue overseas business opportunities. Through the funding of feasible studies, orientation visits, specialized training grants, business workshops, and various forms of technical assistance, we enable American businesses to compete for infrastructure and industrial projects in middle-income and developing countries (1). The TDA funds project planning activities which directly influences the decisions related to major industrial projects. In other words, these are projects that represent millions of dollars in US export potential. TDA works to ensure that the services and products needed for projects will be stamped Made in the USA (How TDA Operates 1). An example of some of the goods and services are radar for airports in Asia and process controls for refineries in Latin America. The TDA is active in over forty countries throughout the world. Investment Appraisal Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Investment Appraisal - Assignment Example Investment Appraisal The growth stage is also evidenced by the existence of sufficient resources that will be enough for the organization to open up to new opportunities. Tyneside gravel organization is currently faced by three main decisions. The first decision that Tyneside organization needs to consider is the need to expand as a way of meeting the demand of more customers. Through expansion it will be possible for the organization to open up to more opportunities. The organization needs to make a stable decision on the need to expand especially because one the area they seek to move in doesnââ¬â¢t have enough sand and gravel which would only add to the inconveniences (McEvoy, 2012). Tyneside gravel organization also needs to make a decision about having a similar stand especially for the autocratic managing director who fears taking into new and innovative methods which are mostly useful in adding to the success of any business. Tyneside organization is also faced by a third and very important dec ision of choosing between the most viable expansion site between Cleadon Hill and Burdon Farm through a consideration of various factors such as market and cost of leasing. Market is one of the major factors that affect the success of a particular organization because it affects both internal and external efficiency thus making it necessarily for Tyneside Gravel to put it into consideration. The issue of the market should be considered relative to Claedon Hill especially based on the fact that one of the management has secured a promise with a top contractor in the region to buy from the company should they decide to take on the Claedon Hill farm. By having the Claedon Hill as a site the company is more assured of a constant income since it will be able to make 240000 tons per year for the first year which is an assured estimate due to the Mowlem agreement. The company also estimates market sales of about 200000 tons per annum for the next three years. Lease is also a factor that the Tyneside Company should consider on the basis of the actual cost of the lease and the amount the company would spend on development of the lease and the time taken for the development as this is likely to affect the viability of the company in future. On signing the Claedon Hill lease Tyneside company will have to part with 500000 dollars which will be paid immediately while the time taken to develop the site will be a year which will cost the company 95000 dollars including the installation of machinery required for use in the site. The Tyneside Company on the other hand should also be able to analysis the Baldon Farm market which has a number of customers within the site but its viability will highly depend on securing more customers on the south. Market sales figures are expected to attract a 300000 tons buying power per annum. On a more positive trend the company expects to have a build on its market by the fifth year of about 900000 tons per year which is expected to continue over the remaining part of the project. The cost of lease in the Baldon Farm too will take into account the actual cost at the time of immediate lease, cost of development and the time that will be taken to end the work. The firm has been offered a deal to pay 700000 dollars at the initial lease coupled with the cost of development which is expected to be about 400000 dollars especially because the area is remote and requires more of infrastructural development. Question 2 Operational risks Every business that seeks to expand its ground is faced by several challenges that are commonly referred to as business expansion risks. Competitive business ex pansio

Biomes and Diversity Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Biomes and Diversity - Essay Example The plants and animals of the earth are also important because of the recreational pleasure they provide us with. More people in America spend time watching wildlife than they do watchingà moviesà or sportsâ⬠. In a way, people would benefit more in practical ways from the preservation of biodiversity. ââ¬Å"At its heart, rewilding is based on living with the monster under the bed, since the big, scary animals that frightened us in childhood, and still do, are the fierce guardians of biodiversity. Without wolves, wolverines, grizzlies, black bears, mountain lions and jaguars, wild populations shift toward the herbivores, who proceed to eat plants into extinction, taking birds, bees, reptiles, amphibians and rodents with them. A tenet of ecology states that the world is green because carnivores eat herbivores. Yet the big carnivores continue to die out because we fear and hunt them and because they need more room than we preserve and connect.â⬠à Re-wilding is then done so that biodiversity survives and can expand to make produce more environmentally healthy habitats. If life a healthy habitat and ecosystem could be developed, the re-growth of natural environments for wildlife can help make a cleaner and healthier world to live in as long as human activities that negate biodiversity are lessened as well. The Environment Should Be Protected Because and Only Because Human Livelihoods Depend Upon It Essay Example for Free
The Environment Should Be Protected Because and Only Because Human Livelihoods Depend Upon It Essay The environment should be protected because and only because human livelihoods depend upon it. The essay will treat the different problems that exist, nowadays, between environment and human beings, their difficulty to coexist, and mostly the ethical issues that result from it. Introduction ââ¬Å"There is a sufficiency in the world for manââ¬â¢s need but nor for manââ¬â¢s greedâ⬠- Mohandas K. Gandhi. This sentence is getting all its meaning since the previous decades. Nowadays, the question of environment, and its relation with human beings is one of the most central issues. Many things impact peopleââ¬â¢s life, but protecting the environment and the planet should be important to everyone all around the world. The questioning of environment was an ignored issue through time, and human beings hadnââ¬â¢t put this problem on top of his priorities. For many years, people have satisfied their needs, without showing any concerns or awareness about the care of our planet, the way we treat our environment is described by some, like murder. Thus, it is natural to ask ourselves if the environment should be protected because and only because human livelihoods depend upon it or the opposite, that us, humans, exist only because of our planet, and that we should do all our best to save the air we breathe, the ground we live on, the entire environment that surrounds us. First of all the study will begin by what the environment is through time, then it will show the obvious relationship between environment and human beings and its issues, and it will finish by the question of ethics about human and nature. The nature of the environment In recent years, the term environment has replaced the term nature, environment may be understood by what is surrounding us, it can be separated into living components: fauna and flora, and non-living components. Environment provides resources that ensured the well being of each species in the world, it is a real support for all the living organisms that exist on our planet. According to Raymond Williams, that is one of the most famous Britain writer and philosopher, the nature can be defined as ââ¬Å"the material world itself, taken as including or not including human beingsâ⬠, it means that nature includes everything that lives, and that human beings are fully part of nature. There are two ways of thinking, on one hand, the ecologists who focus on environment and living being relationship in general and on the other hand the ones who focus on human beings and its relation with the environment. Firstly, the traditional meaning of nature was that God created it for all the living organisms, but basically, through history, people used to think that humans had a central place in it, like a king on his realm. As times has passed, with the industrial revolution, environment has another position in the society, and nowadays, human being is the one responsible for the environmentââ¬â¢s change. According to Michel de Montaigne, French philosopher and writer of the 16th century: ââ¬Å" Let us a little permit Nature to take her own way; she better understand her own affairs than we. Montaigne tried to explain that nature could be by itself, and that it had always done. For decades, man gives itself the right to do everything, everywhere without any concerns for the planet. Before the creation of man, the environment was evolving by itself, and now, a new reliance emerges, the well being of the environment almost depends on man. The issue is that human nature didnââ¬â¢t respect what was offered to it. The relationship between environment and human beings Firstly, it is crucial to realise that humans have a unique position in nature because of the exceptional ability they have to adapt, to transform, to create. In the beginning, man could be compared to other animals; nature was the one who dictated where living beings was. Humans lived with fishing, hunting, gathering vegetables; nature was the only dominator. Through time, humans continuously evolved in their way of living, they succeeded in creating new materials; they understood what the environment could provide them. The relationship between man and nature had gradually changed, through the evolution of the agriculture, man begins to control his environment, he modified his needs, and his frequency. However, the most important redefinition of the term nature was after the industrial revolution until today, man is now able to have a total control over it. The evolving of new technologies, of new mores, and the rising of the population created a new world. Since the 20th century, and the birth of the consumer society, the relation man-nature totally changed, man doesnââ¬â¢t only need nature in order to survive, but he needs it to satisfy different inexistent needs. The issue of energy is almost the most important, as it was said previously, evolution and energy are two reliable term, concerning man. The most famous ones are fossil energies, for years, man has used these energies indefinitely, and this phenomenon has grown abruptly because of our society. A new reliance was created, man plundered every resource on Earth, and a new dependence was born, nowadays, nature almost needs man. Moreover, another fact has to be pointed out: the massive decrease of certain species because of man, especially the decline of fish, as it is shown in the documentary: ââ¬Å"The end of the lineâ⬠by Rupert Murray, which highlights all the problems caused by humans in the maritime world. Even if man has to satisfy his natural needs, it is obvious to say that, in the 21th century, there is a big issue, because man acts without any concern about what the environment provides The questions of ethics about the relationship: man-nature Human beings are part and parcel of nature, which is part and parcel of the universe. Nowadays, new issues comes up about environment, a lot of scientists agree that human beings succeed in creating an alarming disaster on the planet. Since few decades, man realised what happened, and the mores about environment preservation began to change, it is now a well-known fact. However, there are some real ethical questions that have emerged: who is responsible of the environment degradation? Does it have to concern every man on Earth? Was it legitimate for human beings to use what nature can offer without any awareness of the damage? As it was previously said, it is necessary to understand that man is unique compared to other living species. In the mean time, nature created every living organism, included man, thus, these ones have to give it some respect; it is the basis of the ethics. Unfortunately, the issue is the nature of men, they didnââ¬â¢t respect the contract, and they even abused of the environmentââ¬â¢s creed. Human beings basically exploit nature to gratify their selfish instincts; they are ignorant of what universe had provided them. The fact is that the development of our society takes over the good preservation of our planet, when man undertakes to create new technologies, he doesnââ¬â¢t have any concern about the environment, because it is included in human nature. Moreover, it is difficult to satisfy everyoneââ¬â¢s needs, and thinking about the protection of the environment at the same time, but today, human beings are facing a really new type of dimension concerning environment. At first, man deeply depended on nature, and it is the opposite in this day and age, nature deeply depends on man. What is central to highlight, it is that all flora and fauna is degrading, man destroys living life, and today, we are on the ledge of nature bankruptcy. Human beings have to be more and more implicated in the protection of Earth; it is crucial for them to save the living and non-living organisms for the reason that even if man doesnââ¬â¢t protect the environment for himself, he has to do it for all the species that exists in the world, and that he threatens. Conclusion ââ¬Å"I dont understand why when we destroy something created by man we call it vandalism, but when we destroy something created by nature we call it progressâ⬠ââ¬â Ed. Begley Jr. This quote really points out the fact that it is unconsciously acknowledged in humans minds that using all the resources that nature has to offer is normal and moral. The way of thinking is starting to evolve these days, because people are realizing that itââ¬â¢s for their own sake that the environment should be preserved. This shows all the duality of the problem, people start caring only when their own interests are at stake, and not due to the fact that it is ethical and moral to try and protect the living things around us. Ecologist have now a very powerful plea, which is that letting things going the way they are will harm us, but this means that telling people that we should protect the environment just because it is a beautiful living thing that we should try to coexist with, wouldnââ¬â¢t work. The consequence of people starting to care is good, but if they are doing it for the wrong reasons, selfish reasons, is that really the morality that we should adopt?
